The word chakra comes from Sanskrit and means wheel or vortex. There are seven major chakras located along the central channel of the body from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. Each one is a spinning center of energy that processes a specific type of life force and governs a specific domain of human experience.

In Kabbalistic tradition these energy centers correspond to the sefirot of the Tree of Life — the divine structures through which creation flows into the human being. The lower chakras correspond to the physical and emotional dimensions of existence. The higher chakras correspond to the spiritual and divine dimensions. When the entire system flows freely a person lives in alignment with divine will and experiences health, abundance, love, and spiritual clarity as natural states.

Chakras become blocked for several reasons. Unresolved emotional trauma embeds itself in the corresponding chakra and disrupts its natural spin. Chronic stress in a specific area of life creates energetic tension that eventually solidifies into a blockage. External negative energy from other people — jealousy, hatred, the evil eye, or deliberate curses — can target specific chakras and disrupt their function. And sometimes blockages are generational, passed through family lines as energetic patterns that each new generation inherits.

1. Root Chakra (Base of the Spine)

4. Heart Chakra (Center of the Chest)

The heart chakra governs love, compassion, connection, forgiveness, and the ability to give and receive care. When it functions correctly relationships are nourishing, forgiveness comes naturally, and there is a felt sense of connection to others and to life itself.

The crown chakra governs the connection to divine source, spiritual awareness, and the flow of divine blessing into the person’s life. When it functions correctly there is a felt sense of being guided, supported, and connected to something greater than oneself.

A blocked crown chakra is one of the most serious signs of significant negative energy presence, particularly black magic that has specifically targeted the person’s connection to divine source. This is the blockage most frequently described by people who have been living under severe spiritual attack for an extended period.

How Chakra Blockages Affect Your Entire Life

Chakras do not operate in isolation. The entire system is interconnected, and a significant blockage in one center creates stress throughout the whole system. A severe root chakra blockage eventually affects the sacral chakra above it. A heart chakra blockage affects both the solar plexus below and the throat chakra above.
